What is a brow lift?
A forehead lift—also called a “brow lift”—is a cosmetic surgery procedure that restores a more youthful, refreshed look to the area above the eyes. The procedure corrects drooping brows and improves the horizontal lines and furrows that can make a person appear angry, sad, or tired.
How is the forehead lift or brow lift plastic surgery procedure performed?
In a forehead lift or brow lift, the muscles and tissues that cause the furrowing or drooping are removed or altered to smooth the forehead, raise the eyebrows, and minimize frown lines. Dr. Yang may use the conventional surgical method, in which the incision is hidden just behind the hairline. Alternatively, he may perform this type of cosmetic surgery with a direct approach, using an upper eyelid type incision. Both methods of brow lift surgery are commonly used today, and both have the same effect of creating a more youthful face.
What are the risks of the brow lift?
Like all surgery, it is impossible to eliminate risks altogether. Bleeding, infection, asymmetry, hardness in the scar tissue, and skin loss are known complications. Using careful technique and expertise, Dr. Bennett C. Yang strives to minimize all risks.
