It’s important to be healthy before and after surgery. Eating well, NOT smoking are key factors in having a successful outcome. If you have any medical conditions, preoperative testing or evaluation by your primary care MD may be required before being cleared to have surgery. Most body contouring surgeries are done under full general anesthesia in a fully licensed patient surgical center. The results are immediate. There is some bruising and swelling initially. Patients will need to have compression for the first 6 weeks after surgery to help control swelling. Light massage is also recommended after surgery to aid with healing.
